CALIFORNIA  REGISTRY

of
PROFESSIONAL  COUNSELORS
and
PARAPROFESSIONALS

Establishes and maintains statewide standards of practice* for:

REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS (RPCs)

and

REGISTERED CAREER PARAPROFESSIONALS (RCPs)

under the auspices of the
CALIFORNIA  ASSOCIATION   for  COUNSELING  and  DEVELOPMENT
EDUCATION  FOUNDATION

*This designation is a voluntary credential and is not a license to practice in California.

Since licensure of Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) will become law in California beginning January 1, 2010 and grandparenting will begin January 1, 2011, the Registry will no longer serve a purpose, so it is no longer accepting applications and is making plans to close by December 31, 2010.

Visit the website of the California Coalition for Counselor Licensure (CCCL) for information on licensure of Professional Clinical Counselors in California (www.caccl.org).

The Registry is beginning to phase out the Career Paraprofessional designation and is
therefore no longer accepting new applications or renewals.  However,  those who are currently listed on
this website remain in good standing until their term expires.   Career Paraprofessionals seeking certification
should explore the national Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certificate found at
http://cce-global.org/credentials-offered/gcdfmain/usa/futuregcdf.
